The Importance of HonestyHonest people are genuinely thought of as trusting and open minded. Many people want to know if certain clothes, hair styles, and there overall appearance is appealing to others or not, so by asking an honest person, they will feel confident they are getting the most truthful, no sugar coated opinion. Honesty is the best medicine because if you are honest with yourself and others you will feel better about yourself and learn to cope with a real underlying problem. On a therapist standpoint and taking a look how they would perceive honesty can be explained in many ways but in particular the main focus of why people are honest is behaviorally, as traits and phenomenological. Commonly behaviors are influenced by situations and people exhibit there reaction regarding an issue, whether positive or negative. Sos displayed is how someone will behave, as a product of there own environment. If this type of person answered the same question then quite possibly there answer would be… “I love your haircut”, only because they learned from others not to hurt the person’s feelings and avoiding confrontation by curbing the truth. In addition, behavior can affect a person’s honesty when they are influenced by a group of people or approached by an authority figure.
