Factors Contributing to the Tragic Outcome of Shakespeare's Romeo and JulietTeenage love can be confusing. Often times, teenagers believe that its love at first sight. There is a chance it can be true love, usually it isnt, though. Which, in the end can cause alot of hardship, hatred, and even death. In William Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet , the story of two teens who fall in love, Romeo and Juliet, are forced to hide their relationship because past problems haunt them due to family rivalries. This causes tradegies to follow Romeo and Juliet. Many forces were involved in the deaths of the two lovers, between hatred of the families and the secrets Juliet kept, their love was doomed. (108)One of the characters, Friar Lawrence, was to blame for the deaths of Romeo and Juliet. He was the local clergy. He knew about the families hatred towards eachother, but still chose to marry the two. For example, Friar Lawrence says, “ For, by your leaves, you shall not stay alone,” (128). Friar lawrence feels like he is doing whats right, and marrying two people who love eachother. He thought the marriage might heal the families rivalry, instead his actions soon lead to deaths. Friar should not have married theese two teenagers who think they love eachother. They werent even sure if they loved eachother, they were too young to understand the depth of their families hatred.
