A Description of Two Chairs- The Ball Chair and The Panton (Stacking) Chair
I have chosen two chairs to wirte about “The Ball Chair” and “The Panton (Stacking) Chair” . The first chair I am going to write about is “The Ball Chair”. This chair was designed by Eero Aarino in 1966. It has been called “The Ball Chair” because this chair has many functions which enable you to relax in the chair for comfort. These functions are this chair is to relax in “room-within-a-room”. You are also able to sit in the chair to have a phone call or listen to some music inside. The purpose of “The Ball Chair” is that it is so that you can have your own private space inside to do what you want to like read a book or magazine. The form of the chair is that it is really deep and wide so that you can fit inside it to relax your muscles. The materials used to construct “The Ball Chair” is inside mould, wet paper, fibreglass ball that swivels on an aluminium base and is also upholstered with a foam or a fibrefill. The techniques to construct the chair is that he individually hand sewn, carved and moulded it by himself. The colour of the chair is bright strong and contrasting, cool and its texture is rounded and its surface looks really smooth. This chair probably cost a lot of money to make but will probably cost a lot more these days as you can have it designed for your own preferences. The visual impact that I have on this is that it . . . read more.
