The Different Types of People that Attend Church

When I was still in the Philippines, I had never failed to go to church every week. For me, Sunday was church day. However, there was a time when someone asked me why do I had to go to church when I could stay at home and pray. It was also then that a question occurred to me. Why would people go to church? I knew it would be awkward to ask them directly, so I decided to take a closer look on their actions and try to interpret their reasons of coming to church. Then, I came up with an idea of putting them into three categories: faithful churchgoer, forced churchgoer, and socialite churchgoer.
First was the faithful churchgoers. These people were really religious that they would follow all the Ten Commandments, particularly the third one. They were the frequent guests of God’s house. They were the people who personally knew the priest and they were usually in charge of arrangements for the church’s events. Overall, these churchgoers were people who would likely to enter His kingdom when the world ended. .
Another group was the forced churchgoers. They are much different than the faithful churchgoers. They were the people who would barely go to church and even if they would, they have their own reasons. They would only come on their neighbor’s wedding, baptism, or wake but they seldom attend mass.
