Are Zoos Good Or Bad?
Zoos are they good or bad There are over 200 zoos in Britain alone, one of them is Edinburgh Zoo, over 600,000 people pass through its gates every year making it Scotland second most popular paid for tourist attraction. So it must be enjoyable for the visitors but is it as enjoyable for the animals.
Animals are becoming extinct due to man destroying its natural habitat. Zoo are helping with this by captive breeding programs which means engangered species will not become extinct. However some people argue they are not the same animal as they are not in their natural habitat so that is not the same animal. Opponents also argue there is no point in captive breeding as the animal never returns to the wild. In my opinion breeding endangered animals is a good thing but it could be done reservations animal reservations because they are helping the animal and letting it stay in its natural habitat. Although I believe it is not the same as seeing it in the wild I couldn’t imagine future generations not having the chance to see ‘live animals’ instead of seeing it in books and television.
More and more schools are visiting the zoo as they are educational. They are supposed to teach children about the animal, but are they really teaching the children about the animals but can children really learn about the animal when it is behind bars like a prisoner getting stared at by people walking pass making the animal to abnormally . . . read more.
