The Differences in Healthcare in the United States and Canada

Being Canadian, Its hard for me to imagine life without health insurance. If you have any type of medical problem that you need continuous care and you have good health insurance you can be cared for in the finest private hospitals. Private health insurance is better than public health insurance because you get faster and more efficient treatment you have the option of the type and cost of health care you want, and taxes are lower.

1——- In America you get more efficient treatment than Canada. I have an uncle who was in need of a specialist for cancer. It would have taken him up to three months before he would get his surgery to remove the cancer. Instead of hoping for good treatment in Canada he decided to get good treatment and made a trip to the US and had the surgery within 2 weeks which saved his life. The medical advancement in the United States is the difference in saving lives.
I grew up in a socialist country for 19 years and have spent 7 years in the US. I have had a chance to see both sides of the health care systems. Recently this year I had to get a Cat scan in Canada because the doctor thought I had a mass on my liver, it took 3 months before I was able to get a cat scan.
