What Drives Teenagers

I stand before you today in order to increase your knowledge about the number of teens killed or injured in motor vehicle accidents an Why these accidents occur?This often leads to people blaming the vehicle or the other person involved in the accident for the deaths occurring, yet they never seem to question the teens driving.

Many of the accidents caused by teens are due to reckless driving, or driving under the influence. However, the biggest cause is that teens do not like to follow the safety rules and regulations of the road. We love to speed even if we have nowhere to go. We also love to listen to music loudly and often dance to it which causes us to not pay attention to the things in front, on the side, or in the back of us.

Yesterday, as I read my psychology book, I came across a quote written by Laura A. King. She is a psychology major and studies human emotion, behavior, happiness and motivation. At the time that I read the quote motivation was just what I was looking for. I was feeling very frustrated with a certain class. I felt like the class was moving too fast. I did not comprehend all of the information, and I was unclear as to what I was supposed to be studying for the upcoming test. In my mind I kept telling myself that I was going to drop the class, that it was too hard, or that I was going to fail. None of these thoughts were positive nor were they motivating to me or my esteem.
